Abstract
Osteochondroma is the most frequent benign bony lesion. It presents as a bony exostosis with a cartilaginous covering on the external surface of the bone. It generally appears as a single lesion (90%), but it can also be part of multiple hereditary exostosis. Myositis ossificans is a pathologic bone formation that occurs in soft tissues. There are both a localized form, which is usually posttraumatic, and a widespread form, which occurs usually in fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. The former initially presents as a posttraumatic and well-circumscribed lesion that frequently complicates hematoma formation of the muscles. We describe a patient who presented with pain of left iliac spine for 4 months. Laboratory study including alkaline phosphatase showed within normal range. Simple radiologic study and CT scan of pelvis revealed an calcified mass covering with other calcified lesion. He was diagnosed as having osteochondroma on left iliac bone covered with myositis ossificans. And Three phase bone scan showed osteochndroma with increased uptake of radioisotope on blood pool and delayed image. And it showed myositis ossificans traumatica with no increased uptake on delayed image.
